Anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic and anti-allergy. German Chamomile is more strongly anti-inflammatory than Roman Chamomile, which is a more potent relaxing nervine.
Useful internally for allergic reactions such as hay-fever, allergic asthma, eczema and inflammatory reactions to allergens including foods, stings and bites.
Its strong anti-spasmodic action has traditionally been used to treat
muscle and visceral spasmodic pain.
To relieve colic and all manner of digestive system complaints-the combination of
anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, bitter liver tonic, anti-septic and astringent wound healing properties make it an invaluable remedy for the treatment of digestive system infections, constipation and diarrhoea, IBS, intestinal pain, worms, ulcers,
indigestion and gut related problems of a nervous origin.
Children's digestive complaints respond well to its well balanced and calming action.
Relaxing to smooth muscles, uterine muscles, skeletal muscles, peripheral blood vessels
and the nervous system. Traditionally used to treat the female reproductive system and balance hormones during menstruation and menopause - PMS, head-aches, scanty periods, painful periods.
During pregnancy it can be used after the first trimester for morning sickness,
nausea and mastitis.
Externally its anti-inflammatory action is superb, safe for children,
including treating nappy rash.
Also useful as a decongestant inhalation which is safe for children (instead of Eucalyptus,
Rosemary and Peppermint which are not recommended for young children.
Its anti-inflammatory action will soothe irritated mucous membranes as well as loosening catarrh.
All inflamed and irritated skin conditions (except psoriasis) will benefit from topical application-acne rosacea, acne vulgaris, eczema, varicose ulcers, urticaria, sun burn and wounds.
dose - Maximum dose is 40ml per day internally.
